Refund of costs of transport within the framework of an interuniversity cooperation
Students taking courses at another university in the framework of the interuniversity co-operation of the 2 year master programmes, can reclaim their public transport costs through the department. The courses, taken into consideration for this refund, can be found in the Master Programme’s study guide marked by a “train” icon
The Faculty of Science will reimburse the department according to the following specifications:
For students up to the age of 26:
Only those costs made through a campus card can be recovered.
After approval of the ISP, the students involved will receive an admission from the faculty which permits them to register as an interuniversity student. The proof of registration enables them to use the campus card for their train travel. Reimbursement is only possible for those subjects, within their own Master Programme, marked by the train icon in the study guide.
Please visit the b-rail website (http://www.b-rail.be/nat/E/tarifs/traincards/campus/index.php ) for more information regarding obtaining this campus card.
For students over 26:
These students are also eligible for a refund through the use of a second class Rail Pass (http://www.b-rail.be/nat/E/tarifs/passes/rail/index.php) or through a second class train ticket which costs less than the price of a single trip through the Rail Pass (currently 7,60 euro).
For the interuniversity Master’s degree programme in Geography KU Leuven/VUB, a different scheme is applied.
The decision regarding reimbursing the departments is valid as long as the faculty budget “Refunding Transport Cost” is provided for in the yearly faculty budget.
