Prof. André Matagne

Prof. A. Matagne holds a Ph.D degree in Biochemistry (Enzymology) obtained from the University of Liège. His research focuses on protein folding and stability. A number of model proteins have been selected, including lysozymes, β-lactamases and single domain antibody fragments from camelids (VHHs). Both the equilibrium and kinetic folding properties of these proteins are studied by a variety of biophysical and biochemical methods, including fluorescence and circular dichroism spectroscopy, stopped-flow kinetics, mass spectrometry, NMR and quenched-flow hydrogen-deuterium exchange techniques. His group is currently developing a model system to study the effects of inserting amyloidogenic protein domains/fragments into a carrier protein, which displays enzymatic activity.
